When Changing Is Not Easy.....

Have you ever found yourself in a place that you felt compelled to change. You knew that something had to change and quick? Every thing about you, inside and outside screamed "Change" !!!! But in your mind you are saying I will, I know I really need to, I just don't have the motivation even though you "KNOW"!, it's about to destroy you. But for some reason or another you continual in the same path? I think it's safe to say that we all have been there in some form or another.

When I found myself in this particular need of change I struggled and still struggle with letting go of the old things that were killing me (literally killing me). I was lead to passage in the bible talking about a women named "Lots Wife".

I can imagine this women was familiar with change. But she found herself in this place that was good to her but not for her. Wow! Oh how I can relate....

She had warnings saying to her "this place is about to be destroyed and if you stay in it, even near it you will be destroyed".

"Change quickly" is the thought that came to my mind when pondering on this passage. Do it today, don't wait until tomorrow, do it now! Get in a hurry!

God showed mercy on Lot and his family and removed them from the life threatening situation. Lot's wife was so connected, unwilling to let go, unwilling to accept the change God was calling her to, that she did the very thing God told her not to do, which was "Don't Look Back".

God gives us chance, after chance, opportunity after opportunity to change in areas that are detrimental to our walk with him (relationship) and in our everyday lives. If we could truly accept God's love for us, changing, even if it does not feel good or look good would become a lot easier because we know what we are changing to something that is a lot better then what we are changing from. I remind myself of this and I have found that change is becoming somewhat easier do.

I encourage us not to be like Lot's wife and die because we waited to late to change. God has given us a way out of things or situations that we thought we would never get out of or change. However, we still have a tendency to return to those things that are killing us because we are looking back to go back and continuing to do those things that are not leading us to the life we deep down inside long for. Let's be like Paul and say, "I too will press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus" . In other words lets move, change to reach the desires we long to have operating in our lives. The life God is calling us to. Love, Peace, Health, and yes Wealth. Lets go get it! No longer looking back to go back but forgetting those things behind us (what we use to do). Letting our pass being just that our past!
